Creating destinations IN the airport.
With TSA security tighter than ever at the airport, passengers arrive earlier and spend more time at the airport before their flights. But Port Columbus (John Glenn International Airport) found out that more time spent doesn’t always equate to more money spent at airport merchants.
So Port Columbus devised a plan to change its atmosphere to a more shopper-friendly one—and they reached out to Ryan Partnership for conceptual help.
We developed a colorful signage package that would direct passengers (who are already in "sign-mode") to merchants in a lighthearted way. Brief, relevant copy would motivate them. Using arrows as the call to action, these signs would stand out and quickly direct passengers to the shops.
